Description
Do you feel oppressed by the crowds of the city and do you want a place surrounded by greenery just a few steps from Florence? Our trekking experience on Monte Ceceri, close to the Fiesole hill, is perfect for you. Located at a short distance from Florence and reachable by bus or taxi, Monte Ceceri offers spectacular views, a rich and fascinating history and corners of total relaxation for an out-of-the-ordinary and LGBTQ+ themed excursion activity.
As an environmentalist himself, Leonardo da Vinci loved this place and it was here that he came to study his beloved birds (read our blog to find out more) and to conduct his experiments on flight. The name “Ceceri”, in fact, is derived from the swans that lived in this area and that nested right next to the stone quarries used to build the sumptuous palaces of Florence.
In this walk suitable for everyone, we will admire the fauna and flora of the Florentine hills and we will tell you about the adventures of Zoroastro da Peretola, the poor wretch that Leonardo used as a guinea pig for his… flying experiments! Once we get to the top, we will rest and have a nice glass of Prosecco with some Florentine schiacciata panini!
