I have an academic background which led me to study in Italy, France, the United Kingdom and the U.S. I have specialized in visual and liberal arts and published my research findings on several reviews and articles. In 2015, I became a licensed tour guide and I gotta say I love my job!
I have always been very inquisitive and one of my priorities is to always be up-to-date. I have decided to focus on LGBTQ+ travel experiences because I firmly believe in the huge potential of this sector. The tours I came up with became the starting point of this amazing adventure!
Queerstory
Queerstory – as I like to call it – isn’t just the hidden history of the Gay and Lesbian commmunity, but also a tool to delve into the neglected themes of official History.
This means including new updated readings of art history and breaking down the wall of prejudice while digging up forgotten voices that have been put aside for centuries.
My goal is quite simple: I wish to give voice to those who have been erased from textbooks and guidebooks. I want to say that being original, outside the box, and over the top is part and parcel of real groundbreaking art!
It isn’t easy to go down this road! Queering the canon is challenging and demanding but I believe that we have the right and the duty to bring the past back to life and reopen “cold cases”. Let me be your Queer detective!
We offer art history tour of Florence, from an inclusive and original perspective
My Queer Tuscany Tours draw on extensive documentary research carried out in libraries and institutions like the Harvard University Berenson Library for Renaissance Studies. So, if you have any queries, just go ahead and ask me!
Throughout my career, I have been in touch with scholars and researchers from all over the world. This cooperation has given me the chance to come up with special theme tours and unusual itineraries in some of the major museums in and around Florence.
Let us guide you into the wonderful world of queer art!
Traveling is an amazing way to discover rich and fascinating worlds. Art is not just a precious and untouchable relic from the past, though. It’s a living thing that can help us understand our identity.
I want your journey to become a personal experience and a moment of awareness. There’s nothing better than the feeling that comes from the sudden discovery of something truly unexpected!
I want to make you feel part of an endless narrative with your name written on it. I want you to be a part of this… Queerstory!
